At Lennie’s, every day is Earth Day🌍
As the impacts of climate change become more visible—from extreme weather to shifting seasons—its more important than ever to take meaningful, everyday action.
Since opening our doors in 1989, we’ve believed that being a great restaurant also means being a great steward to our community and to our planet. Since 2014, we have proudly made strides to become a 3-star Certified Green Restaurant, certified by the Green Restaurant Association. Our goal? Decrease our environmental footprint to make a real, lasting impact.
We’re also proud to be recognized as a Bronze-Level Bicycle Friendly Business by the League of American Bicyclists—because sustainability doesn’t stop at our doors. Whether you walk, drive, or ride, we’re committed to supporting greener ways to get here.
We are so grateful to all of our customers who continue to choose to #dinegreen with us. THANK YOU! 💚
Ways we help Mother Earth every day:
🌍 We have implemented 44 steps across six environmental categories—Energy, Water, Waste, Food, Disposables, and Chemicals—earning 188.72 GreenPoints™.
🌍 We compost! Our recycling ♻️ and compost programs divert 30.89 cubic yards—over 11.7 tons—of waste from landfills each year.
Did you know? Restaurants generate over 300 million tons of garbage every year. We’re proud to help reduce that impact through consistent waste diversion efforts.
🌍We are 100% free of polystyrene (Styrofoam) and were early adopters of paper straws.
🌍 We use locally and regionally sourced food, including eggs from Heartland Family Farms, chicken from Miller Amish Farm and beef and pork from Fischer Farms.
🌍 We utilize reusable containers whenever possible—from water glasses to kegs, growlers, and fryer oil containers.
🌍 Our bath tissue is made from LEED-certified, rapidly renewable timber sources, and our paper towels are made from 100% recycled paper.
